ManamaDr. KT Rabeeulla, Chairman of Gulf-based Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Group, will award gold medals to Indian Olympic medal winners.

Indian Olympians P.V. Sindhu and Sakshi Malik will be given 10 sovereigns worth of gold for winning medals for the country.

Badminton player Sindhu created history by becoming the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal, while wrestler Sakshi pulled off a sensational 8-5 victory to clinch the bronze in 58kg category.

An unblemished sports enthusiast, Dr. Rabeeulla said sports and games were essential for a person’s overall development.

He has long been encouraging sports in his native village Kodur in Kerala. He has sponsored Ayisha from Kottakkal, the only Malayali female softball player taking part in Olympics.
