ASRY safety briefing targets record 1,500 employees
Manama : Bahrain-based ASRY (Arab Shipbuilding & Repair yard) has initiated a project, which aims to deliver a new safety briefing to more than 1,500 employees.
The project will be held over a six-week period of daily sessions in batches of approximately 50 employees at a time.
It is the largest single training roll-out project in ASRY’s history, signifying the seriousness with which the yard is taking its new safety drive, entitled ‘Hero For Zero.’
‘Our safety is our responsibility’, ‘Safe work or no work’, and ‘Every accident is preventable’ are the three new safety principles that will guide the yard’s safety culture henceforth.
They are being explained in six different languages depending on the participants of the briefing session, combined with a documentary video examining the human consequences of recent serious safety incidents.
