Bahraini female diplomat attacked in Brussels
Manama : A Bahraini diplomat at the Bahrain Embassy in Belgium was among the victims, who were attacked by a mentally unstable woman in Brussels on Monday.
The female diplomat was attacked while travelling on a bus.
However, she did not suffer any major injuries and was discharged from the hospital after treatment.
The diplomat was among three others, who were randomly assaulted by a mentally retarded insane woman.
“The embassy was re-assured about the diplomat’s health, which is stable, and we also wished her speedy recovery.” Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement here yesterday.
The ministry stated that even though it is doing the needful to help Bahrainis abroad, the citizens should take necessary precautions. It also urged Bahraini citizens to adhere to safety instructions and take the necessary precautions while abroad.
Belgian authorities reportedly stated that the act was not linked to terrorism Three people were injured in the attack.
“The attacker was arrested after shooting her in the arm,” said Uccle’s Mayor Armand de Decker.
