Three men face trial for illegal rally
Manama : Three defendants accused in connection with taking part in an illegal demonstration in Duraz will hear their fate soon.
Two of them will have the verdict against them delivered on August 31, while the remaining suspect will receive the sentence against him on September 8.
The suspects’ lawyers submitted their closing arguments, insisting that their clients are innocents. The trio are said to have taken part in the illegal protest which broke out after the State stripped infamous religious figure Isa Qassim of his Bahraini nationality. Quassim was accused of creating “extremist” sectarian atmosphere and working to divide the Bahraini society. It’s worth noting that several defendants are standing trial in connection with this protest.
