Cops get six months for physical assault
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced three policemen to six months imprisonment for attacking a man inside a police station.
The defendants include a police officer and two police captains.
The victim is said to have spoken negatively about one of the defendants’ mother, prompting him to lodge a complaint against him at the police station.
When he was summoned for questioning, the three men apparently attacked the victim.
They allegedly kicked the man on his face, neck, chest and tummy. They also tried to strangle him, but the latter managed to escape.
The defendants were initially accused of locking up the victim, but the High Criminal Court dropped this charge due to lack of evidence.
