Woman gets 3 years for attacking cop
Manama : The High Criminal Appeals Court confirmed the three years sentence issued against a woman held guilty of attacking an on-duty policewoman.
An arrest warrant was issued against the defendant, who was working as a teacher, after parents of several students lodged complaints for mistreating their children.
When the police came to enforce it, she resisted and physically assaulted a policewoman.
“I approached her (the defendant) and introduced myself. I told her there was an arrest warrant against her,” the victim told prosecutors.
“She said she wanted to pick up her child from school and I accepted her request on condition that I will accompany her. However, she suddenly became violent. She insulted me verbally and attacked me physically,” she explained.
