Painting her own world

Amani Al Tawash believes that everything has its own beauty in the eye of an artist; they can create masterpieces as their minds always try to create and imagine something that everyone can understand in their own way.

The Bahraini talent has created a world of her own by using just plain tools like paint, brushes and creativity to showcase her art on canvas. As an artist, painting is a lifestyle she has fully embraced in every aspect of her life.

To Amani, being surrounded in a milieu of all her works inspires her creativity and ambition in this field.

Amani’s talent was always nurtured by her parents and with their support she studied Interior Design in Al Ahlia University. She is now currently working as a creative manager in CH9.

She is also a member of Cup of Art and was part of the group very early before it was established.

Amani’s artwork and role

While speaking to Amani Al Tawash, she talked about the kind of work she does and how it inspires her to create artwork.

She also eloquent about her role and challenges as a mother and wife and how this has given her the drive to follow  her passion.

“My work is based on many elements in graphical design from calligraphy, artwork, colour pallet and editing. This helps me grow and be more organised. The artwork I create cannot be classified under one classical art school. The definition of art is that it should create an experience for the audience, give them the tools to interpret the artwork on their own and be inspired by that art to touch other lives for the good,” she elaborated.

“My latest work is “Rabab”, which represents something from my childhood memories. It involves a character that is unique by expressing how Bahraini culture and tradition was a big influence in everyone’s life on this Island,” she remarked.

“Rabab is so close to my heart that I wanted ‘her’ to be real, jump from my sketchbook, walk, talk and laugh as a normal human,” Amani said. “As a mother, I always wanted to be a role model for my kids, by helping them see and taste the art. I want to show them that life can be changed through art.”

“My marriage life was a challenge when I had to balance work, family, home and art. I am lucky to have a supporting husband, who understands my passion and helps me think of my next projects,” she said.

Cup of Art and CH9

Amani explained about the benefits of the ‘Cup of Art’ community and how it inspires youth to work on their art and display them with confidence. She also talked about her experience working in Corporate Hub 9.

She said that while working in CH9, she not only feels like she fulfils herself as an artist but she also provides a channel to inspire other artists through this business.

“As a group, we came up with the idea of “Cup of Art” with its main aim to inspire youth and gather over a cup of tea and explore the wonders of art. You don’t need to be an artist to join this group,” Amani commented.

According to her, it simply provides a space for everyone to join in art based projects that will be visible for the public.

“It is purely a nonprofit organisation and aims to attract the youth to adopt art to be more creative with everything they do. It’s not just limited to making artworks, but also to influence youths to realise how amazing art can be,” the talented artist opined. “CH9 provided me with an opportunity to create an environment that gathers creative and talented people under one roof.”

“The aim of CH9 is to create that space that helps nurture such apprentices and help them meet their set goals. You will not find an environment like this in Bahrain, which hosts people of business, culture, mentors and international artists,” she said. “This unique mix of spectrum will create a very positive and creative environment, which will push each other near perfection through business, creativity and support,” Amani added.
