Matooq clinches 3 bronze medals
Manama : Hussain Matooq is the latest national team weightlifter to win medals with three bronze medals in the Juniors 17 years and under category on the third day of the men’s competition at the Afro-Asian Weightlifting Championships in Amman, Jordan.
The youngster impressed representatives from the African and Asian countries at the championship with his talent after participating in the 62kg category and had five successful lifts up to 88kg before failing in his next attempt.
Additionally, a Bahraini refereeing team participated in a training course for referees on the sidelines of the championship which featured lectures by Dr. Mustafa Majid Al-Zubaidi.
This came as part of the preparations for the upcoming GCC Weightlifting Championship, which takes place in the Kingdom next December.
