Positive results for Triathlon team

ManamaMikel Calahorra (4 hours 17 minutes) clocked in first for Bahrain team members finishing 33rd in his category and 125th overall in the Ironman 70.3 world championships at the weekend in Queensland, Australia.

Followed by Salem Al Dossari (4 hours 59 minutes), while compatriots Nawaf Al Daen (5 hours 06 minutes) and Jamal Al Dossari came in next. Other compatriots are Yousif Zaman, Hamad Al Mansour, Jassim Al Bastaki, Mai Al Hajji and Hana Al Khalifa.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, praised the results achieved by the Bahrain Triathlon team.

“The team’s results reflect the true ability and perseverance of Bahraini youth and capacity for improving in triathlon sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain and whoever follows our national team is aware of the dramatic improvements in performance over a very short period on the international stage and competing against the best,” said Shaikh Nasser.

Dr. Shaikh Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Triathlon Association also noted the results through extensive development programmes and strategies which reflects the training programmes undertaken by the team.
