Bahraini Hajj pilgrim evacuated from Mecca

ManamaA Bahraini woman, who suffered a heart attack at Mecca yesterday, underwent a cardiac catheterisation procedure at the King Abdullah Medical City in Saudi Arabia.

“The Hajj Medical Delegation is following up on the condition of the patient, and the hospital has confirmed to help her finish her Hajj duty at Arafat,” said head of Hajj Medical Commission-affiliated coordinative committee, Dr. Ebrahim Obaid.

The woman was shifted from Al Noor Specialist Hospital in Mecca. 

Dr. Obaid  in a statement,  said that Bahrain Hajj clinic so far had treated 590 people, most of whom were suffering from the flu and stomach problems.

Diabetic cases were also reported to the clinic by pilgrims for a check-up to get reassured about their health conditions, in addition to a few others who are anaemic.

The Hajj delegation, chaired by Shaikh Adnan Al-Qattan, and the Hajj Medical Mission, visited their Kuwaiti and Qatari counterparts to exchange expertise. The medical staff have also accompanied the pilgrims as they descend to Mina.

The Hajj Medical Mission chief extended deep thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Saudi officials for their dedicated efforts, paying tribute to Bahrain’s leadership and the health authorities.
