Kooheji to represent Bahrain

ManamaHamza Kooheji, the successful KHK MMA fight team member and the first professional (MMA) mixed martial arts fighter will represent Bahrain on an international MMA platform. He will participate in the Brave Combat Federation premier event Brave “The Beginning” set to take place at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town on September 23.

The event will be headlined by a welterweight bout between Lebanon’s Mohamed Fakhreddine and Brazil’s Thiago “Monstro“ Vieira.

Kooheji started his Mixed Martial Art career back in 2011 at the age of 19 under coach Mohammed Shahid, the current Chief Executive Officer of Khalid Hamad Khalifa Mixed Martial Arts (KHK MMA) when the sport was relatively new in Bahrain with only a handful of practitioners willing to engage in competition.

After less than one year of mixed martial arts training, Kooheji made his professional debut in India’s Super Fight League where he made national history earning his first ever victory at an international MMA competition. He then continued to excel in his young Mixed Martial Arts career, defeating Saudi Arabia’s  Abdul Malek Mardi in his second professional fight.
