Jail sentence upheld in insulting cops case

ManamaThe High Criminal Appeals Court upheld the jail term issued against a Bahraini man convicted of insulting two police officers.

According to the case, the police officers went to hand over a police warrant to the defendant in his house on February 24 three years ago.

“He appeared at the window and shouted at us when we told him about the warrant. Then he used swear words and threatened us,” one of the officers said. The defendant was earlier handed down three months behind bars.
