Fencing team returns with 16 medals

ManamaBahrain’s national fencing teams have returned home following remarkable achievements at the Arab Fencing Championship in Amman, Jordan winning 16 medals (four gold, four silver and eight bronze) in the Under-14 and 18 age categories.

On arrival at Bahrain International Airport, the teams were welcomed by high-ranking sports officials, headed by Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, along with Bahrain Fencing Association president Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, as well as other association board members and BOC sports federations affairs director Hisham Al Balooshi.

Askar congratulated the players and conveyed the greetings and best wishes of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.

Askar noted the advanced level of the two teams who are the future of the Bahrain fencing, wishing them further progress.
