HM King attends World Endurance Championship

SamorinHis Majesty King Hamad bin  Isa  Al Khalifa  yesterday attended the World Endurance Championship 2016, which was held in Samorin, Slovakia.

HM King was received on arrival by  Supreme  Council for Youth and Sport Chairman, Bahrain Olympic  Committee President and Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Chairman HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport  First Vice Chairman and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation President HH   Shaikh  Khalid bin Hamad  Al  Khalifa.

On the occasion, HM King held cordial talks with UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubai Crown Prince Shaikh Hemdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on strong bilateral relations.

HM King Hamad also thanked International Equestrian Federation (IEF) Second Deputy President Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa for opening the World Endurance Championship 2016, on behalf of the IEF President, while underlining the crucial role of the sport in strengthening cooperation among countries.

He lauded the positive participation of the Royal Endurance team, led by HH Shaikh Nasser, stressing Bahrain’s keenness in participating in such international championships. 

His Majesty hailed strong cooperation between the Royal Bahrain Endurance Federation (BREEF) and the International Equestrian Federation (IEF) to promote this sport.

“The Kingdom of Bahrain ranks among the countries which own the best stables for authentic and pure breed registered with the World Arabian Horse Organisation (WAHO),” he said.

“We participate and compete fraternally as brothers and any win for the UAE is also a victory for Bahrain,” HM the King said in a statement to UAE Yas Sport channel.

In another statement to the channel, HM King Hamad hailed HH Shaikh Nasser as a role model for Bahraini youths.
