Two expat women get 10 years for trafficking

Manama : Two expat women implicated in a human trafficking case have been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment each.

The defendants were also slapped with BD2000 fine each. They will be deported once they complete their jail term.

The duo are said to have exploited Thai women by forcing them into prostitution after promising jobs in the Kingdom.

The victims were locked up in apartments located in different buildings, where they  were forced to have paid sex with strangers, as per court documents.

The defendants were reportedly living on this money, while the victims were denied even the basic life essentials.

The duo were put on trial after prosecutors established the accusations against them based on testimonies given by the prosecution witnesses and investigative reports.
