Moroccan Bahraini Handicrafts Week from Sept 26
Manama : The Moroccan Bahraini Handicraft Week will kick off on September 26 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, it was revealed yesterday.
The event, held in cooperation between the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and Moroccan Embassy, will be under the patronage of Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani.
“We will be launching a series of events and activities to promote the tourism ties between Bahrain and other countries,” BTEA CE Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa told the media during a briefing held yesterday.
“The events will also serve as a platform to promote the handicraft industry between both nations and exchange expertise,” he added.
Further commenting on the event, Morrocan Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khatabi said, “We are more than happy to host this event in Bahrain that reflects the strong ties between both the nations. The unique first-of-its-kind event will showcase the traditional Moroccan crafts alongside Bahraini handicrafts. It will also highlight the creativity and talents of both the countries and allow further exchange of experience and knowledge.”
The event will be held in partnership with Dar Al Sanea Establishment, he added.
The event, open to the public, will continue until October 1. It will run from 10am to 1pm and from 4pm to 10pm.
The exhibition will cover an area of 3,000 square metres and will include 22 Bahraini and 13 Moroccan handicrafts. It will also include live traditional music and workshops.
