‘Bahrain role model for tolerance’
Manama : Bahrain has been a successful role model for tolerance, co-existence and love among all religions and sects for ages, said His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
“Bahrain is proud to be a land that embraces all religions and sects within a tightly-knit one family that is open to the world,” pointed out King Hamad while speaking in a meeting with Bishop Camillo Ballin, the Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia, at Al Sakhir Palace yesterday.
HM the King remarked that the Kingdom always seeks to consolidate the values of tolerance and co-existence among all religions, reject extremism, and promote the values of the Islamic religion.
During the meeting, His Majesty commended the tremendous efforts Bishop Ballin is exerting in the humanitarian fields, as his endeavours to promote the values of virtue, love and tolerance. King Hamad reviewed a number of issues that contribute in spreading the culture of dialogue and tolerance among the followers of divine religions.
Thanking the leadership, Bishop Ballin stressed that Bahrain embraces all without discrimination.
