HM King extends support to Bahraini labourers’ rights

ManamaIn recognition of Bahraini workers’ pivotal role in the progress of the Kingdom, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has assured the State’s support to all efforts aimed at increasing their rights. 

Describing them as the main development engine, King  Hamad hailed the Bahraini labourers’ creativity, distinction and competence at work places.

His Majesty made the remarks during a meeting with the Secretary-General of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions (GFBTU), Hassan Abdulla Al Halwachi, at Al Sakhir Palace yesterday.

In the meeting, the King underlined his constant keenness on supporting labour trade unions and facilitating their work.

King Hamad congratulated the new GFBTU’s members, wishing them every success in enhancing the labour march in the Kingdom.

Noting the outstanding efforts exerted by the GFBTU’s Secretary-General, HM King commended the efforts of Bahraini men and women in serving their country. 

HM the King also stressed the role played by Bahraini women at all work sites, praising their valuable contributions and success to hold high leadership posts.

His Majesty lauded the efforts of the Labour and Social Development Ministry to train Bahraini youth and prepare them to join the labour market. 

King Hamad also urged for concerted efforts to attain more achievements for Bahrain and its workers, and enhance the Kingdom’s status at various labour gatherings.

On the occasion, Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan praised HM the King’s directives, and constant support to labour trade unions. 

“HM the King had laid the foundation of free labour trader union work. It’s among the key achievements of the pioneering Reform Project,” he added.

Meanwhile, Al Halwachi lauded the great achievements and multiple gains attained by Bahraini workers under the Royal Reform Project.
