Water-misting fans to ease heat at parks
Manama : Water-misting fans will be installed as part of the park and walkway projects in Bahrain’s capital in order to ease high temperatures, said Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Minister Essam Khalaf yesterday.
This came during a meeting with officials of the Manama Municipality to discuss the plans for the municipal projects located in the Kingdom’s capital and ideas that raise the level of services and meet the needs of the people.
Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs in the Ministry of Works Dr. Nabil Mohammed Abulfateh, Director General of Manama Municipality Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Municipality Parks and Property Director Zuhair Al Dallal and other officials at the Municipality attended the meeting.
Minister Khalaf confirmed during the meeting that the ministry is keen to implement various municipal development projects in social and economic fields to promote sustainable development for citizens and residents.
He revealed the intention of the ministry to invest in natural pools such as Ain Qasari and Nabih Saleh next season, in coordination with governmental bodies. These pools will be developed based on the leading and vital examples of successful projects such as Ain Adhrai and Ain Um Al Shaum, which have left an echo of popularity among Kingdom’s citizens because of nostalgic connection to Bahraini memory. The Minister said that several locations in Sitra Bridge require removal of unlicensed vendors.
“The ministry is currently looking for solutions to provide these vendors with licence so that they can operate within the rules and regulations,” he added.
