ManamaBahrain Defence Force’s (BDF) vital role in the Saudi-led coalition during Operations Decisive Storm and Renewal of Hope was critical in upholding regional security, said Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

HRH Crown Prince also praised the BDF’s high level of combat readiness and proficiency during his visit to the Royal Guards Headquarters yesterday. Prince Salman commended their unwavering commitment and service to the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad.

Paying tribute to the servicemen, who have lost their lives fighting for the Kingdom’s security, he recalled the patriotic sacrifices of Bahrain’s forefathers in protecting the country and its allies.

Earlier, HRH Crown Prince was received by the Commander in Chief of the BDF, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa; the Royal Guards Commander, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa; the Royal Guards Special Forces Commander, HH Major Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and senior officers. Speaking on the occasion, Shaikh Nasser expressed his gratitude to Prince Salman for his support to the BDF, which had played a significant part in helping the military achieve their advanced military capability.

He also underscored the importance of Bahrain’s participation in the Saudi-led coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen. According to him, the ongoing support to the BDF is a source of immense motivation for personnel on the front lines, as well as those working on base to develop strategies. Shaikh Nasser noted that Bahraini troops had achieved a high level of military proficiency that was praised by Arab coalition countries.

He also gave away medals awarded by HM the King to members of the Royal Guards Special Operations Force in recognition of their service in Yemen.
