Man gets five years for embezzlement
Manama : A Lebanese man was sentenced yesterday to five years in prison for embezzling more than BD60,000 from his employers.
According to the case, the 47-year-old defendant was the General Manager of a local company selling fruits, and its owners had full faith in him.
He reportedly issued cheques for his own interests and got a loan under the company’s guarantee during 2012-2015.
His career began in the company in 2010, according to court files. The Lebanese man had already admitted to his wrongdoing during interrogation. He will be deported once he completes his jail term.
