Rugby Club ‘A’ win Netball opener
Manama : Bahrain Rugby Club ‘A’ has won DHL Bahrain Expatriate Netball League Season Opener. The victory over British Club Ballers was of a narrow score 4-3.
The competition featuring 10 teams was split into two groups of five, playing on a round-robin basis with the winner of each group playing in the final.
Through ‘Think Pink Bahrain’, the players and spectators in attendance raised BD180 towards charity, with its founder Julie Sprakel present prior to the matches.
In Group A action, British Club Ballers won all four matches to qualify for the final, while Bahrain Rugby Club ‘B’, Dilmun Club ‘A’, British Club Cheerios and St Christopher’s finished in second to fifth places respectively.
Group B was won by Bahrain Rugby Club ‘A’ to secure a place in the final with four wins, followed by British Club Warriettes, Dilmun Club ‘B’, GNT Sri Lanka Club and Dilmun Club ‘C’ who finished in second to fifth places respectively.
The new league season gets underway next month.
