Two Bahraini terror suspects sentenced to 10 years
Manama : High Criminal Court today sentenced two terror suspects to ten years in prison. The court also ruled to revoke their Bahraini citizenship, said the Chief Prosecutor at the Terror Crime Prosecution, Isa Al Rowai'e.
The first suspect was tasked by the second suspect, still at large in Iran, to travel to Iran where he received training on the use of weapons and explosives with the purpose of carrying out terror attacks against public and private installations and targeting public security men to destabilise the security and stability of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Investigations were conducted in the case and legal arrest warrants were obtained to arrest both suspects.
The court issued its verdict after deliberating the case during its sessions in the presence of their attorneys who presented their defence arguments and were accorded all the legal sureties.
Both convicts have the right to challenge this ruling at the Court of Appeals within the legally-prescribed duration if there is legal justification for it.
The Bahraini judicial system allows the appeal court rulings to be challenged at the Court of Cassation as part of the legal sureties.
