Perfect start for Kerala Super League football

ManamaThe Second edition of the Expatriate Champions League (ECL) Kerala Super League got off to a superb start at Al Ahli Club with wins for Al Kerlawi FC and Salcete United.

In the opening match, hosts Al Kerlawi took on Kerala House United with the former Kerlawi taking the lead through U-16 Star Faris and the skipper Haytham added a second for a 2-0 win thanks to a fine cross from Anees.

In the second match, title hopefuls Yuva Kerala and Experienced Desert drew 0-0 and was followed by the same score between KMCC Bahrain and a well-disciplined Kanyakumari FC. Defending champions Showstoppers took on New look BIFF FC in a thrilling match which had everything except a decisive goal.

Former I league player Elvino Dunga made the difference in the last match as Salcete United claimed an important victory over Marina FC.

Kerala Super League was inaugurated in the presence of former Kerala player Thilakan and ECL chairman Rahmath Ali.
