Minister reviews new curriculum
Manama : Following the introduction of the new curriculum for students with special needs, Minister of Education Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi visited Ahmed Al Fateh Primary and Intermediate School for Boys and got briefed on the new approach.
The special education specialists in the school, explained the advantages of the curriculum to the Minister. He observed the significant capabilities of students with intellectual disabilities and Down Syndrome. The minister stressed that the ministry has merged 63 out of 75 schools with the new curriculum to develop educational services for people with special needs.
The minister also said the ministry has hired companies specialised in designing curricula to help students achieve academic advancement, life skills, maximum interaction and participation both in school and society.
In addition to the new curriculum, the ministry said it conducts workshops for professionals and teachers to help them meet the requirements of students’ educational and treatment purposes.
