Omar Ali wins overall top position in BRR
Manama : Omar Ali (35 minutes 36.9 seconds) won the overall top position in men’s category in the Bahrain Road Runners (BRR) opening event organised Aquathlon 2016 at the Hamala Beach Resort on Friday.
Coming in second was Jamie Price (36:47.8) with Christophe Sorgis (38:23.9).
In the women’s category, Kizzy Price (44:34.7) came in first, Alisa Lindsay Roe (47:43.3) was second and Olga Garland (48:07.02) third.
The race was open to Adults 15 years and above with a 600 metres swim and a 6km run and featured more than 150 participants.
A separate race for children was also held aged between six years and14 and comprised a 300 metre swim and a 1km run.

Male: Marton Cserepas (F16, 41 minutes 13.8 seconds), Clarke Morton Shepherd (M30, 42:42.8), Tom Vaughan (M40, 39:37.1), Bryan Harris (M45, 42:02.3), Tim Owen (M50, 45:16.0), Michael Atkinson (M55, 48:05.7).
Female: Angela Aguilo (F16, 51 minutes 27.9 seconds), Maria Camacho (F30, 57:5.3), Abby Fraser (F40, 52:47.5), Samantha Muller (F45, 54:03.5), Sue Hall (F50, 50:28.5).
Male Team: Bahrain Sports (33:27.4). Mixed Team: The Seventeeners (37:48.8).
