Works on 5k housing units to begin soon
Manama : Works on 5,000 housing units in the East Sitra Housing Projects will commence before the end of this year, following directives from Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
“The project will implement the royal directives, and achieve the goals set in the Government Action Plan,” Prince Khalifa said, adding that the project will be funded through the Eskan Bank.
The Premier tasked the Housing Ministry to cooperate with the Ministry of Finance and the other relevant parties to take the necessary procedures in this regard.
He also instructed the Ministerial Committee for Urbanisation and Infrastructure, and the Ministerial Committee for Financial Affairs and Rationalising Expenditure to follow up on the matter.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the government will intensify its housing projects and programmes to improve the Bahraini’ standard of living.
The directives come in the wake of The United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III), set to take place in Quito, Ecuador.
