Gravity Indoor Skydiving unveils professional team
Manama : Gravity Indoor Skydiving announced the sponsorship of its first professional indoor skydiving competition team.
The team, which will consist of the world-class flyer Ben Roane from the USA and Gravity’s very own instructor Garth Lewis, is expected to compete in their first competition in early 2017.
Ben has been tunnel flying for about six years and skydiving for five years. He has had a lengthy career in high-level competition including two World Champion titles.
“Competition is what drives me most,” said Ben, “I believe that Garth is a very talented flyer and I am looking forward to seeing what this team can produce.”
Garth, originally from South Africa, has represented the country in martial arts and squash in the past.
Three years ago, Garth decided his passion was in the sport of body flight and began his career as a wind tunnel instructor in the UK. Garth arrived at Gravity Indoor Skydiving in October 2015.
“The discipline of body flight is what gets me up in the morning, it’s what drives me, and to be able to express my passion in such a manner is something that I have been working very hard on trying to achieve,” added Garth.
Zoe Edwards, Commercial and Marketing Manager, said: “Bahrain is becoming globally renowned for its top athletes and we hope Gravity can add to this already existing world-class level with this new team. We are also hoping to develop local talents to create a Bahraini team to compete at this level in the future. ”
Ben and Garth’s first training camp will take place this month. For more information about how to learn to fly at Gravity Indoor Skydiving, contact on +00973 1310 0000 or book online at www.gravitybah.com.
