Bahrain Triathlon team taste victory in Oman

ManamaThe Bahrain Triathlon Team (BTA) came in first place in the Oman Triathlon Championship with the participation of 120 contestants from national teams from across the world.

It comprised three stages, including a 750metre swim, 20km cycling and a run covering a distance of 5km with Bahrain’s Omar Hamza (one hour, 21 minutes) finishing the race first, followed by compatriot Mohammed Mubarak (1:23) and Ahmed Al Mahmeed (1:24).

In the Olympic Triathlon race, Abdullah Atteya (two hours. 10 minutes) came first which consisted a 1.5km swim, 40km cycling and a 10km run.

BTA President Shaikh Sager bin Salman Al Khalifa dedicated this achievement to the leadership and HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of HM the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
