Duo sentenced for planting fake bombs
Manama : The High Criminal Court slapped two defendants, including a fugitive, with five years in prison each for planting fake bombs in the area of Janabiya.
The hoax bomb was discovered by police officers, who were on patrol in the village. The man in custody reportedly planted the device after receiving BD100 from the fugitive, who is residing in Iran. “He instructed me to go and pick the bomb from a graveyard in Jid Ali, and we decided to put it in Janabiya,” he said.
The defendant was arrested after his fingerprints were found at the scene. The second defendant has been found guilty in several security cases, receiving heavy sentences, including life imprisonment.
