ABG to organise opening football ceremony

Manama : The opening ceremony of the 2016 AFC U-19 Championship, which gets underway in Bahrain tomorrow,  will be run by Arkan Business Group (ABG), said Bahrain Football Association board member Aref Al Mannai.

The tournament’s marketing director said the company, being responsible for organising ceremonies and festivals for Saudi Arabia’s Professional League, has been hired to run the opening ceremony of this continental event in Bahrain.  Based in Riyadh, they also have branches in Jeddah as well as in Milan and Barcelona.

Al Mannai said a special performance will be put together by representatives of the company under the following slogan ‘Sun of Asia shines in Bahrain’ at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town from 7.30pm onwards.

Bahrain Olympic Committee board member, women’s sport committee chairwoman and Bahrain Table Tennis Association president Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa has backed the team through determination and coherence will guide the team to victory in one of their toughest tasks this year. The top four teams will qualify for the 2017 World Championship in South Korea.

Meanwhile, Bahrain’s today finalise their preparations for under national coach Abdulaziz Abdo and assistant Mohammed Al Muqla and the 23-member squad had a training session last night at Al Ahli Club. Bahrain’s opening Group A match is tomorrow against Saudi Arabia.
