‘Source of pride’

ManamaThe ability of the one-family Bahraini society to maintain its long-standing respect for religious diversity is a source of pride, said His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa  Al  Khalifa.

HM the King made the statement while receiving the annual reports on the work of the Representatives and Shura Councils for the second session of the fourth legislative term at Al-Sakhir Palace yesterday.

The Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed Al Mulla and the Chairman of the Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh submitted to him the annual reports. Councils’ several members were also present. “The Legislative Branch has played a key role in the Kingdom’s progressive march,” he remarked on the occasion. 

HM King Hamad  under-scored the achievements attained by the Councils in adopting the Bahraini society’s issues, developing laws and legislation, strengthening the law, and defending national issues and interests.

King Hamad expressed hope that achievements that ensure more progress to the nation and prosperity to the citizens will be attained during the new session of the fourth legislative term.

While voicing pride in the tremendous efforts exerted by everyone during the Ashura commemoration, he affirmed that Bahrainis’ vigilance will always be a protective shield of the Kingdom’s safety and unity.

His Majesty highlighted the multiple means provided by the State of law to protect and consolidate religious freedom. The King also stressed the need for defying any external power’s attempt to exploit Bahrain’s religious sector.
