Appeals of three arsonists rejected

ManamaThe appeals of three arsonists, who were found guilty of setting a power plant on fire in Hamad Town, were rejected by the Supreme Appeals Court.

Earlier, the Bahraini trio had been slapped with 10 years in prison each by the High Criminal Court after their involvement in the incident was confirmed.

The first defendant  told prosecutors that they had planned to torch all the power plants between Hamad Town’s 17 and 22 Roundabout on May 23, 2013.

The defendants were charged with destroying public properties, putting lives in danger and possessing firebombs.
