Ibrahim Sharif's defamatory speech case ruling on November
Manama : Court ruling in the appeal of an ex-General Secretary of a local society convicted of inciting the overthrow of the government will be announced on November 7.
The accused, Ibrahim Sharif, was earlier sentenced to one year behind bars after he was tried in connection with a speech he gave in July 2015 at an event, where he allegedly incited the public to overthrow the regime.
He was released in June after serving over four years of a five-year prison sentence.
He was one of 21 men convicted in 2011 in connection with a plot to overthrow the government with help from abroad.
