Woman attacks pal for rejecting nightclub visit
Manama : The High Criminal Appeals Court has upheld the fine issued against a Bahraini woman, who had beaten up her friend as she refused to accept her request to go to a night club.
The 27-year-old defendant reportedly launched a severe attack on her Bahraini friend, while they were in the latter’s car.
The victim told prosecutors that the defendant physically assaulted her as well as inflicted damage to her car and house.
“We were in my car sitting at night, and she proposed that we go to a nightclub. When I refused, she assaulted me, and then damaged the moonroof and threw rocks on my car,” the victim revealed to prosecutors.
“Even after we reached home, she continued the same attitude.When I was talking on the phone in our house, she pelted dishes at me and my foot got injured. Then she went near the cooker in the kitchen and tried to set it on fire,” she elaborated. “Soon I fled from the house. The next day, she sent lewd messages and when I left the house I found my car’s windshield broken,” she added.
However, the victim waived her right to sue the defendant, who was only fined BD100.
