National races set to return at Bahrain International Circuit

ManamaThe stage is set for another gripping season of national racing at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir starting this Friday. The event showcases some of the most popular and highly competitive circuit racing championships in the region.

The season include the Bahrain Drag Racing Championship, the BIC 2,000cc Challenge, the Bahrain Superbikes Championship (BSBK) and the Bahrain Motorcycle Racing (BMR) 600.

Action kicks off on Thursday night with an evening of test and tune for drag racing competitors. 

The tests are scheduled from 7pm to 11pm and it will be the first chance for participants to try out their cars or motorbikes ahead of the start of the new season. The event flags off with round one from November 8 to 11. On Friday, BIC’s 2.55-kilometre inner track goes live with action in the practices, qualifying and races in the 2,000cc Challenge, BSBK and BMR.  The 2,000cc competitors will be battling it out from 4.15pm in practice, which will be followed by qualifying at 5.45pm. Race one is then slated for a 7.31pm start, and race two is at 9.28pm, which will be the final event of the night.

The podium ceremony honouring all of the day’s winners will be held at the end of racing. All are invited to attend the weekend’s events and enjoy the very best of Bahrain racing.
