UNCT to mark United Nations day
Manama : UN Country Team (UNCT) in Bahrain will mark the United Nations Day tomorrow to commemorate the 71st anniversary of Organisation.
This year’s celebrations will focus on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the steps being taken at the national level to ensure their implementation, according to Samir Imtair Aldarabi, Acting Director for UN Information Centre for the Gulf States.
“The governments, since the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals last year, have started mobilising efforts to end poverty, address inequalities and tackle climate change by 2030,” Aldarabi told DT News.
The UN Country Team in Bahrain, in addition to other activities, will hold a Press Conference tomorrow at 10am at the UN House Conference Room in Hoora.
A UN Day Reception will be held on the same day at 7pm at the Grand Ambassador Ballroom, Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel.
