BTA Adults Awards dinner held

Bahrain Tennis Academy (BTA) held its 2014/15 Adult End of Season Awards Dinner at the Dilmun Sports Club in Saar last night with players and guests gathered to honour the most outstanding players of the year in 18 categories.
The awards were split into two sections - nine awards were presented to students taking private lessons while the other nine awards were presented to Cardio Tennis participants
Some of the categories included most dedicated player, improved player, best baseliner, net player and best dressed. Five players were short-listed for each award and the winner chosen based on the criteria for each category, but also taking into account each player's level and experience in the game.
Winners of the Player of the Year awards were Lyn Barrie, for Cardio Tennis players, and Josephine Marshall, for private students.
Other winners were Amy Warman, Constantinos Hadjigeorgiou, Erich Bruckner, Evelien Bruckner, Geeta Lakhani, Grace Markley, Kristin Villamizar, Leaana Baker, Mark Catchpole, Melissa Gut, Nadim Nasser, Sally Meikle and Tania Camara.
The awards were presented by BTA Director, Dan Barrie who said, “We have a great bunch of adults who are committed to improving themselves one way or another, whether it be through skill acquisition from lessons or health and fitness gains from Cardio Tennis. The awards are a way of acknowledging this and to encourage them to keep up the great work."
