Bahrain shines in Arab Reading Challenge

Manama : Jidhafs Girls’ Secondary School student Wala’a Al-Baqali claimed the third place in the Arab Reader Challenge.

The pan-Arab competition attracted up to 3.5 million students from 18 Arab countries. Al-Eman Girls Private School was also selected among the top three establishments out of 30,000 government and private educational institutions in the Arab World. 

The winners were honoured during a prize-distribution, which was held under the patronage of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum. 


Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi attended the ceremony along with officials and specialists from Arab and foreign countries. 

A total of 18,000 government and private school students took part in the competition in Bahrain, 162 of whom were honoured for their achievements. The top ten achievers qualified in the final ceremony in Dubai.
