Molesting minor: Case adjourned to assign lawyer

Manama

The High Criminal Court adjourned the case of a cafeteria employee accused of sexual abuse until August 23 to assign him a lawyer.

The accused was caught abusing a 10-year-old boy in his workplace by the victim’s father, who was on his way home from work.

The father stated he saw the Asian accused touching his son's private body parts.

"I went to him and scolded him for what he did," he added.

But the accused denied abusing the child, stating he was just playing with him.

"I was having fun with him (the child), and I touched just his pant," the accused said.

However, the victim stated the accused sexually assaulted him for a month. He said he didn't talk about it to anyone out of fear of his own safety.

"He sexually abused me for one month. But I was afraid to tell my family about it," the victim told prosecutors.  The Asian national was accused on grounds of sexually abusing a minor.
