Turkey-GCC forum to enhance trade ties
Manama : The Turkey-GCC Second Business & Investment Forum, which aims to reinforce bilateral trade between the GCC and Turkey besides stimulating investments and joint ventures, begins today at 10am.
The two-day event is jointly organised by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), the Federation of GCC Chambers (FGCCC), and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchange of Turkey (TOBB). It is held under the patronage of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Commenting on PM’s patronage of the forum, BCCI Chairman Khalid Al Moayed said, “The patronage adds momentum to this high-level business event, mirrors the leadership’s keenness on openness, and reaffirms the leadership’s confidence in the role of the private sector in the development
process.”
“The leadership has always extended support to focused business events and all endeavours that aim to stimulate the national economy and enhance its vigour,” he added.
Al Moayed also stressed the importance of the event particularly in light of the current economic challenges, which require a larger role of the private sector and a wider network of business
partners.
From his side, Executive Bureau member and head of the higher committee organising the Turkey-GCC 2nd Business & Investment Forum Ahmed Bin Hindi said, “Turkey has succeeded in taking its economy to new heights, and it is worthy to learn from the Turkish experience.”
“The GCC and Turkey enjoy deep-rooted relations constituting a fertile ground for business cooperation and consolidation between both sides,” he added.
Speaking about the event, Bin Hindi clarified, “Besides the event’s high calibre, a really distinguishing element is its comprehensive nature, as it will exhibit investment opportunities, carry out plenary sessions, and hold B2B meetings.
The forum will shed light on investment opportunities in strategic industrial and infrastructure projects, renewable energy,
gas and oil, finance and insurance, real-estate, automotive, chemicals and cosmetics, health and medical, ICT, logistics,
and others.”
Similarly, BCCI treasurer and deputy head of the head of the higher committee organising the forum Isa Abdulraheem Al Refaei said, “Business owners and investors should always mull expanding and diversifying their businesses, and hence it is important to keep an eye on worthwhile business opportunities. This event will offer a spectrum of opportunities that we encourage business owners and investors
to seize.”
Bin Hindi highlighted the prominence of the event and renewed his invitation to BCCI members, investors, and the business
community.
