Pratul Joshi wins men’s title
Manama : Third seed Pratul Joshi from India defeated fourth seed Aditya 21-17, 12-21, 21-15 to clinch the Men’s Singles title on Sunday night as the BKS OPTIMA Bahrain International Challenge (BIC) 2016 Badminton Tournament concluded at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam club’s Diamond Jubilee Hall in Segaiya.
In the women’s match, Indonesian Sri Fatmawati got the better off her opponent Asty Dwi Widyaningrum to clinch the Women’s
Singles title after winning in straight games 21-14 and 21-16.
Second seeds Evgenij Dremin and Denis Grachev from Russia also won in style following a 21-18, 21-17 victory over Indian top seeds Vighnesh Devlekar and Rohan Kapoor in the Men’s Doubles final.
Bahrain’s Tanisha Crasto and Aprilsasi Puthi of Indonesia won the Women’s Doubles title in straight games 21-12, 21-18 against the Indians Farha Mather and Ashna Roy.
The mixed doubles final was an all-Russian affair with top seeds Evgenij Dremin and Evgenia Dimova winning against compatriots Anatoliy Yartsev and Evgeniya Kosetskaya 21-15, 21-11.
The presentation ceremony was attended by BBSF Secretary General Hisham Al Abbasi, BBSF Board Member Ebrahim Kamal,Title sponsor Optima Bahrain General Manager Babu Vadakkan, BKS officials and match officials.
