Man accused of killing his girlfriend to hear fate this month
Manama : The High Criminal Court has adjourned until November 26 the hearing in the case of a Bahrain man accused of killing his girlfriend.
According to the case, the 29-year-Bahraini man killed his 26-year-old girlfriend, by beating her, in his family house. The man also called an ambulance after committing the crime.
The court files reveal that the duo had been consuming drugs together for about three years. During which the woman also got pregnant once. She, however, decided to abort the baby and was jailed for doing the same.
“On the day of the incident, I asked her to bring BD2,800 of shabu from one of her friends, who was selling drugs. We went there in my car. But her friend insisted on having the money first,” the defendant said.
“I told her that I would examine the drugs before paying. But she declined it and insisted on paying the money first,” he added.
But as soon as the money was handed over, the drug peddler and the girlfriend fled.
“I got very angry and returned home. My girlfriend came back with one gram of shabu after a few hours. She was supposed to bring 30 grams as per the deal. I slapped her twice and she fell down,” he stated.
The defendant, however, is believed to have beaten the woman up with a plank. His mother confirmed hearing screams in his room before the woman was found dead.
“I hid in my little girl’s room after I heard the screams. I was afraid that he would come and attack us,” his mother told prosecutors.
