BDF’s combat readiness commended

ManamaThe high standard of the Bahrain Defence Force’s (BDF) combat readiness and proficiency, as well as its unwavering commitment to duty was praised by Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Prince Salman was on a visit to the Royal Guards Headquarters yesterday. The Crown Prince was received by BDF Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Royal Guards Commander Brigadier HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Royal Guards Special Forces Commander Major HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and senior officers.

The Crown Prince highlighted the honourable service of the BDF troops as part of the Saudi-led Arab coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen, and the troops’ role in assisting humanitarian efforts.

Prince Salman also paid tribute to the service personnel who have lost their lives fighting for the Kingdom’s security and stability, recalling their patriotic sacrifices in protecting the country and its allies.

Following the National Anthem and inspection of the Honour Guard, the Crown Prince listened to the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.

HH Shaikh Nasser then addressed the Crown Prince, senior officers and other members of the BDF. In his remarks, the Royal Guards Commander thanked the Crown Prince for his ongoing support to the BDF, adding that as a result the BDF had attained a high-level of advanced military capabilities.

The Royal Guards Commander also underscored the importance of the Kingdom’s participation in the Saudi-led coalition, following His Majesty King Hamad’s directive.

Shaikh Nasser went on to note that Bahraini troops had been acknowledged and praised by allied forces and Arab coalition countries for their military proficiency. In this regard, he stressed that the ongoing support from HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince provides a great source of motivation for all BDF combat personnel, as well as those working to enhance the military’s combat readiness.

Following the address, Prince Salman presented medals awarded by HM the King to members of the Royal Guards Special Operations Force (Taskforce 7) in recognition of their dedicated service during postings in Yemen.

Lieutenant HH Shaikh Mohamed bin Salman Al Khalifa, son of the Crown Prince, accompanied him during the visit. Minister of Defence Affairs Lieutenant General Yusuf bin Ahmed Al Jalahma, Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqer Al Noaimi and a number of senior officers also attended the ceremony.
