HM King gifted Quran manuscripts
Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa was presented with a valuable gift by Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, marking his visit to the Kingdom.
The gift consists of a collection of Quran manuscripts which contain parts of Suras (chapters) written on parchment leaves with ink in an early form of Arabic script known as Hijazi. This dates back to the first Islamic century, placing them among the earliest Quran
manuscripts.
HM the King thanked Prince Charles for the precious gift, stressing solid historic relations binding the two friendly countries as well as economic, political, trade and cultural cooperation.
