Sentence reduced in fake credit cards case
Manama : A Malaysian man convicted in a forgery case has had his imprisonment cut to three years. He will be deported once he completes his jail time.
The 24-year-old landed in police net after attempting to buy a BD9000-Cartier watch from a shop located in a luxurious mall.
The salesman in the shop reported the defendant to police after he suspected him of using fake credit cards. The defendant had 28 credit cards at the time of arrest.
He told police officers that he had got the credit cards from his friend who send him to buy the watch.
He also revealed that he was intending to go back to his country to sell the items he bought. He was earlier sentenced to 5 years in jail on charges of forgery and fraud.
