Violating school issued final warning

Manamaprivate school in the Capital Governorate has been issued a “final warning” by the educational authorities after “serious” violations were reported.

According to a statement recently issued by Education Ministry, “Modern Knowledge School (MKS) has violated the academic norms by employing non-Bahraini teachers without adhering to the followed procedures.”

The ministry also pointed out that “the school has been teaching students certain academic materials that are not included in the curriculum.” These include articles that contradict with the policies of the Kingdom and its Education Law.

The ministry issued a final warning against the school, directing it to immediately rectify the issues. It also ordered suspension of the violating teacher and to correct his employment procedures.

“In case the violations continue or recur, the school would be placed under the direct supervision of the ministry,” the statement added.

DT News reported in September that MKS was warned by the ministry after several violations were detected by its officials during surprise visits to the school.

The past violations included “forcing junior students to stand under the scorching sun for long periods, unjustified raise in book prices, continued closure of the school cafeteria and not notifying parents about the school’s sports uniforms.”

In the past, the Education Ministry has taken serious measures against violating educational establishments including shutting down a private school in July for not complying with its instructions.
