Joint forum to promote bilateral trade

ManamaTo promote investment and trade relations between Bahrain and Philippines, a major conference will be held within the next five months. The ‘Bahrain-Philippines Investment Forum’, will be a platform for businessmen from Bahrain and Philippines to interact and form partnerships, officials confirmed.

The announcement was made during a press conference held on Saturday.  The event is expected to encourage bilateral trade, joint ventures, and investments between both countries.

“The Bahrain-Philippines business relations has a lot of potential for growth. The forum will be in March or April, we need to consult with the Philippine Chamber to confirm the date. This conference will be followed by the Asian conference where other Asian countries will also take part in,” said Mohamed Sajid, head of the Bahraini side of the Bahrain-Philippines Joint Business Council and vice-treasurer of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“We will continue to have formal agreements with Bahrain and we will continue partnerships in the private sector also,” Alfonso Ver, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines said.

The press conference was hosted by Mohamed Sajid, in the presence of the Special Envoy of the President of Republic of Philippines to GCC Dr. Amable R. Aguiluz, Alfonso Ver, the Assistant-Undersecretary for Information and Follow-up at the Prime Minister’s Court Dr. Ebrahim Al Dossari, BCCI Treasurer Isa Al Refaei, Board Member Ahlam Janahi and Acting CEO Abdulaziz Al Refaei.
