Crown Prince orders swift action on NAO findings

Manama : The National Audit Office (NAO) report reflects Bahrain’s commitment to transparency and accountability over the use of public funds through effective and independent oversight, stressed HRH the Crown Prince yesterday. 

Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa said this while receiving the 2015-2016 NAO report from its President Hassan bin Khalifa Al Jalahma, at Gudaibiya Palace. 

While pledging careful review of the findings and recommendations, Prince Salman instructed immediate investigation into all cases that carry any criminal violations for their referral to the Public Prosecution. 

To this end, the government will establish a task force headed by Minister of Cabinet Affairs.

Additionally, the Crown Prince instructed to rectify all administrative violations mentioned in the report immediately by taking appropriate measures.  

Prince Salman went on to praise NAO’s efforts in monitoring public funds to ensure the quality of government services. HRH the Crown Prince also underscored the importance of reinforcing cooperation between government entities and the NAO, noting that this will play a crucial role in increasing government productivity.  

Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister Jawad Al Arrayedh, Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohamed Al Mutawa attended the meeting.
