NPRA building to be relocated

ManamaThe General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) may get a new headquarters soon, instead of the existing one near Exhibitions Avenue in the Capital.

This comes as Bahrain’s legislators yesterday passed a proposal to the Government to relocate the directorate from its current location to a “more convenient one”.

The presenters of the proposal saw it’s necessary to provide a better facility to cope with the increasing numbers of visitors to NPRA building near the Diplomatic Area, considering the lack of parking spaces around it. Majority of MPs voted for the proposal during the council’s weekly meeting in Gudaibiya yesterday. The Government would study the proposal and reply to it within six months.

One of the presenters, MP Ali Al Muqla, told DT News earlier that the building could be shifted to a new area in Seef District.
